Description | neck of a large jug with handles, ear discs and small monkey face in relief Narrow-necked jar/bottle fragment with an unknown body, cylindrical neck, rounded rim, unknown strap handles extending from the neck to the body, and an unknown base. There is a molded monkey face and two ear discs applied to the neck. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. The catalogue number is written in black ink. Black ink on the inside of the rim reads: "1792. |
