Description

Ivory. The small end of the instrument has the form of that of AF824, AF833. The mouthpiece region is a simplified form of that of those trumpets: the actual mouthpiece rim being repeated on the other side with an unperforated prominence of similar shape, and these two prominences being separated by a simple longitudinal ridge. Of these features the characterisitic elements of the design of AF824 appear to be an elaboration. Cf. also the mouthpiece of AF229; and see also AF825, which has a similiar mouthpiece rim, about which no decorative repetition or other ornament has been developed.
