Description | CBS Register: clay head. woman with three corners. diadem and veil. Greek style PBS XVI: Head of a woman wearing a turban spreading above and decorated with a central jewel. The veil forms two projecting horns on either side. Loftus speaks of “Female figures exhibiting strange headdresses which doubtless give us some notion of the costume of the period. One of these is very remarkable; it rises into two tall conical peaks from which depends a veils reminding one strongly of the English ladies’ costume of the time of Henry the fourth.” |
