Description | Fluted. Quasi-lanceolate projectile point. Well-defined basal earsm tips of which are broken. Blade edges slightly convex. Basally ground but slightly between ears and for a distance of 13 mm up both edges. Fluting by removal of a single long, broad and rippled channel flake on both faces complimented by the striking off of smaller flakes after the single primary removal. Fluting is 26 x 12mm and 23 x 12mm respectively. Other flaking is generally thing, short and well-controlled. Almost no hinge fracturing, but channel scars are highly rippled at the far extremities. Interesting features are two deep and broad scars, one on each face which may be the result of fire-spalling (an accidental feature) definitely not flaking scars. Manufactured of fine-grained red jasper. |
