Description | Made from gourd (only grows inland on higher ground away from the coast). Engraved designs; indigenous shaman, white doctor and tobacco leaves. Slits on side to allow acess to interior by spirtis. Scarlet and blue and gold macaw wing feathers lashed to top of wooden staff. used to cure and cause illness, by either "good" or "black" shama. Also used in Nahumaru and Kanobo rituals. Hebumataro. Made by Pedro Maria Ojeda. |
