Description | Three join to form a section 0.34m long. The estimated diameter of the entire wheel is 0.89m. Tire itself is 0.02m thick. At intervals of 0.025m are rivets (iron), square in section, the longest preserved length of which is 0.03m and width 0.005m. These attached the tire to the wooden fellos, traces of which remain. Among the small iron fragments are corroded conical bosses with pin attached which may have ornamented the spokes or hub of the wheel, unless they are heads of above mentioned rivets. |
