Description

Plain. With a face, masklike on neck. The face is produced my a mold.

Face-neck vessel. Narrow-necked jug with a globular body, tapered neck, rounded rim, and a flat base. The vessel has a mold formed face on the neck framed with a raised ridge. There appears to be a burnished finish on the exterior. The vessel was likely fired in an oxidizing atmosphere as the ceramic paste is orange in color. Fireclouding is present on the body. The catalogue number is written on the bottom of the base and black ink on the bottom of the base reads: "382."
