Description | Seen low relief horse heads on body; 5 relief felines in flying gallop pose on shoulder; relief feline on handle. Bucchero, molded and tooled. Trefoil lip, globular body, low flaring foot. Seven low relief horse heads on body, five relief felines in flying gallop pose on shoulder, relief feline on handle. Relief band with seven small studs between felines and horse heads. Rondel has relief gorgoneion with incised details. Bands, grooves and zigzag on neck and lower body. Fabric: dark grey core, fine-grained and unevenly fired. Black surface with low gloss and rough texture. Surface peeling, one rondel missing, damage below spout, foot chipped. Technique: thrown in sections in a jigger on the wheel. Studded band, molded handle, and rondels applied. |
