Plaited flax. Original tag: "No 39. Flaihsgeaflecht von Robenhausen 1863. laited or matted (not woven) flaxen stuff, from the pilework of the stone-age in the lake of Pfaffikon; dug out of the peat near Robenhausen. Sent by A. Morlot to F. Peale at Philadelphia, with best wishes for the progress of science in America. Lausane 10 March 1863.
