Description | (as described in series 67-39-64/68): only #64 is complete and well preserved. Decorated with three concentric bands (same as border and dot filled lozenge on 67-39-35) each filled with two rows of repousse dots outlined with punched circles ont he front (exactly like 67-39-35 in technique, if not the same tool). Central repousse rosette with 17, 18 (three times), or 19 petsals incised from the front both in outline and within as on 67-39-18/20. Heavy impressed groove just inside the rim as on other discs and bosses. Central button/stud through central drilled (?) hole with pin turned around in back to form mounting loop and holding button in place. For horse harness may belong to a single harness. A disc of sheet bronze, slightly convex on front side. Round flattened stud pierces center and its stem is bent around to form a loop for mounting and holding the stud in place. Decoration consists of three concentric circles of bands made up of two incised lines and filled with a double row of dots punched out from the back and outlined with a circular punch on the front. Also, a central rosette in repousse with incised details. Dark green patina with splotches of lighter crystalline corrosion, chipped off in a few spots to reveal reddish layer beneath. For harness decoration (?), seems to closely match frontlet, 67-39-35. |
