Description

Sommerville: Antique paste cameo. Bacchus and a Nymph. Antique Pastes, Case TTT.

Vermeule: Glass paste imitating Sardonyx. Cameo. (Unmounted) Silenus standing to right, with his left arm about shoulders of a nymph. He holds a pedum in his right hand. She wears a cloak about her shoulders and over her left arm. (See 1255) Graeco-Roman imitating a Hellenistic composition. Sommerville - ident. as Bacchus and Nymph
