Description

Round, wooden Katsina doll. The face is painted yellow with corn stalks forming the nose and arching over the eyes. Bird tracks are painted below the eyes and on the back of the head. The body is painted white and red with yellow and white arms. This figure is one of the Chief Katsinam, Qoqolo (or Qoqlo or Kokole). (Colton, H. 1959 #15, Wright, B., 1973 #12)
