Description | Rectangular container made of one piece of folded birchbark; top edge reinforced with additional strips of birchbark; the entire piece is secured by wooded splints lashed over the side edges and sewn through the front and back edges; small sticks anchor the front and back lashings; the front is decorated with an applique of birchbark painted black and secured with wood splint lashings which form a geometric design. |
