Description | Rim sherd of a very large vessel, for there is almost no curve to the sherd. Rim extends outward from the neck and rises almost vertically. Rim is thicker than the bit of neck present, becoming wider towards the lip. Lip itself is rounded. Interior of rim descends vertically. Whole sherd at one time was painted orange/red, but only a small bit of paint exists on the rim, while the neck is obviously orange/red. Red ware? |
