Description | Red plain weave cotton with alternating stripes of yellow and purple. Design motifs include stylized animals, birds and geometric elements. Silk and cotton threads used for decorative elements in brown, purple, aqua, yellow and white. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 52 epi, two singles, Z twist, red cotton. Weft: 22 ppi, two singles, Z twist, red cotton. Warp faced plain weave. Supplementary weft is two faced. One panel, three selvedges. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
