Description | Conical hat made from pandanus leaves. The circular brim is made of pliable wood over which the leaves are folded, overlapped, and sewn together . A fiber ring holds down the ends of the leaves where they are bent back from the pointed top. Such hats were formerly worn by both men and women when fishing. This one was made in 1964 as a party favor. |
