Description

Naskapi hand rattle; wooden handle and rim-shape of a circle; the handle is covered with softened leather; at the end of the handle there are 5 leather tassles. All are painted green on the end and 4 of them have small pieces of metal, in a bell shape attached to the tassles. The metal is painted green also. A green stripe is painted on the leather handle. The caribou skin head of the rattle is painted with a butterfly on each side; the interior of the butterfly is gray with an orange rim around the grey. The rim of the rattle is painted gray with an orange ring around the gray on each side.
