Astrological calendar, depicting tutelary dieties and constellations. Across the top are the tutelary deities of the seven days of the original (Indian) planetary week. Represented in the thirty-five squares below are the constellations that influence the lives of human beings. Rectangle of cotton cloth, starched (traditionally with a paste of rice flour and water). Divided into 42 squares, painted with images of gods, humans, animals and sea creatures. White background, yellow border with tiny black crosses.
