Description | Huipil made of white, plain gauze weave cotton in three panels. Brocaded in inlaid technique. Design motifs of stylized animal, plant and human forms with geometrics used as fillers. Horizontal bands of design elements. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 26 epi, single, Z twist, white cotton. Weft: 28 ppi, single, Z twist, white cotton. Balanced plain weave. Supplementary weft is two faced. Three panels, four selvedges each. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
