Description

Egyptian Blue (blue frit): dark blue granular lump. Contains: silica, copper, iron, aluminum (small), calcium, Magnesium (small) and possibly small amount of carbonate. Egyptian blue (blue frit) a synthetic copper silicate, containing the 8 other metals mentioned above probably as silicates, though the iron could be present as oxide and the calcium and magnesium possibly at least partly as carbonate. Analysis by Eric Parkinson, 1955.
