| Description | Sommerville: Antique paste cameo, color sapphire. A hippogriff. Antique Pastes, Case ZZZ. Vermeule: Blue glass, probably a sealing. Cameo. (Unmounted) A griffin-like animal walking to left. The style is rather crude and the beast almost suggests those which occur on so-called Rhodian pottery in the Greek-Orientalizing Period. Graeco-Roman. |
