Tablet with cuneiform inscription, containing a diaglogue between a supervisor and a scribe in a Sumerian school. In one part of the text the teacher tells the scribe: "Like a puppy you have opened your eyes; you now behave as a person should".

Man and Animals: "ca. 1800 BC Max. H. 9.8 cm Max. W. 6.0cm This tablet contains a dialogue between a supervisor and a scribe in a Sumerian school. In one part of the text the supervisor tells the scribe: "Like a puppy you have opened your eyes; you now behave as a person should." Frequent mention of dogs in literary and other types of inscriptions demonstrates that domesticated dogs played a moajor role in the every day life of the ancient Sumerians and their successors"
