Plan a Safe Visit
A one-hour entry window is allotted per timed ticket.
You may enter the Museum at any time during that hour, then explore the galleries at your own pace.
We ask that if you are feeling unwell that you postpone your visit.
Know Before You Go
Reserve timed tickets online (members must log in to verify their status and receive free admission) or call 215.898.4001 during museum open hours.
Due to construction, the sidewalk in front of the Penn Museum on South Street (between 33rd Street and Convention Avenue) is closed. For visitors arriving from the SEPTA regional rail train station: please cross South Street to the Franklin Field side in order to safely use the sidewalk. Then, cross at the intersection (33rd Street) to access the Museum's Main Entrance. For visitors parking in the garage/Lot 7: please use the East Entrance.
Face coverings are encouraged for adult visitors as a sensible precaution, especially during group tours. Children aged 2-17 are still required to wear masks unless vaccinated.
Please stay at least 3-feet apart from anyone not in your household group.
|Hand sanitizer and wipe dispenser stations are available throughout the Museum.
Plexiglass barriers will remain installed in areas where transactions occur.
The Museum Café is temporarily closed with plans to reopen in the summer. Because water fountains are unavailable for hygiene reasons, visitors are welcome to bring their own bottled water, but no other outside food or drink is permitted inside the Museum. Weather permitting, picnics are welcome in the Warden Garden, Stoner Courtyard, and Mosaic Courtyard. Coat room and lockers are not available.
The Museum Shop is open and located on the Main Level. Also open online.
