Sommerville: Red Jasper. Antisthenes, a disciple of Socrates. Cameo with a hand. Greek and Roman Cameos, Case OO.

Vermeule: Red Jasper. Cameo. (Unmounted). Portrait is identified by Sommerville as "Anthothenes, a disciple of Socrates" but the ancient prototype is an intaglio gem of the late Roman Repulic. Neo-Classic.
