Description | Carved spoon made from two pieces of dark colored horn. The bowl is slightly concave. The handle is riveted to the bowl using copper rivets. Figures are carved into the handle which tapers to a point at the end. The lower figure has large eyes with abalone shell inlay, a mouth with thick lips, and a thin, pointed nose that curves down into the mouth. A second figure stands atop the head of the first with a fully carved body. The standing figure has its hands held up to its face. |
