Description | Ivory plaque fragment in low relief. Muscarella Publication: "Lion similar to the previous examples but neater in execution and with slight differences in details. Extant are the chest and part of the body, part of the front legs, each with pointed tufts, part of both wings. Wings are decorated with neat tongue-like patterns, the back and probably the stomach with a thick herringbone outline, and the chest conventionally with tufts (cf. no. 178). The area in front of the lion is empty. The reverse has linear scoring and two vertical grooves. |
