Description

Ceramic, head only. Surface is slipped and burnished black with light brown clay splotches. Five raised, appliqued marks of scarification: one on each cheek, one between the brows, one beside each eye. Elaborately tiered and incised hairdo in three tiers. Neck culpted to show rings or folds. Part of nose is broken off. Formerly attached to a sculpted body. Eyes are raised and have a deep, straight incision.
