Description | Head of Cn. Pompeius Magnus (Pompey the Great) r.; behind, jug; before, lituus [off flan]; around clockwise, MAG·PIVS·IMP·ITER; border of dots. Neptune standing l., wearing diadem, holding aplustre in r. hand and cloak over l. arm; placing r. foot on prow; on either side, one of the Catanaean brothers, bearing his father on his shoulders; above, PRAEF (AE monogram); in exergue CLAS·ET·ORAE (AE monogram) MAR IT·EX·S·C (MAR monogram); border of dots. |
