Description | Finely polished stone adze. Wider at cutting edge end. Beveled sides. Brown marbled stone. A group of nine polished adzes, namely 2289, 2290, 13144, 13145, 13146, 13147, 13152, 13153, 13154 and 13155, are typical of the type of polished adzes which appear throughout Japan from the Early Jomon Period onward. |
