Description | Huipil made of cotton in three panels. Center panel is red and side panels are white. Brocaded designs of horizontal white accent stripes, zigzags, diamonds and birds in red, yellow, green and white cotton. Neckhole not cut, sides not sewn. See 29-60-4. Similar to 29-60-8. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp center panel: 23 epi, two singles, Z twist, red cotton. Weft center panel: 24 ppi, two singles, Z twist, red cotton. Warp side panels: 30 epi, two singles, Z twist, white cotton. Weft side panels: 36 ppi, one ply, Z twist, white cotton. Balanced plain weave. Supplementary weft is two faced. Three panels, four selvedges each. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
