Sommerville: Sardonyx. Archytas of Tarentum, philosopher and mathematician, B.C. 400. Greek and Roman Cameos, Case RR.

Vermeule: Sardonyx. Cameo. (Unmounted) Filleted head to right., the features modeled after coin portraits of the emperor Commodus in later years. Sommerville identifies as "Archytas of Tarentum" philosopher and mathematician, B.C. 400. 17th century.
