Description | Plain weave cotton shawl with multi-colored warp and red weft. Two yarns in each warp and four in each weft. Ends are finished by knotting the warp into a bunch thus creating a diamond shaped pattern ending in a tassel. 12 tassels on each end have additional white yarn added. Warp is red, green, white, navy, yellow, orange and purple. Design of stripes with geometric designs and ikat. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 40 epi, two and three singles, Z twist, multicolored cotton. Weft: 12 ppi, four singles, Z twist, red cotton. Warp predominantly plain weave. One panel, two selvedges. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
