Description

The stave is covered except near the end swith a spiral wrapping of rattan; in the middle this is replaced by a tube of similar material, plaited, and at intervals along the shaft by rings of the same, 4 on one half of the stave and 6 on the other. The split bamboo string is thick at each end and notched to receive the latshing of a heavy loop of cane bound with cord which rests when the bow is strong ina deep notch at each end of the stave. To each end of the bowstring is attached a cord by which it is tied to the stave.
