Description
Rain jacket. "Basung kapit." K[ayan] Sleeveless jacket made of bark cloth: front and back panels joined by vertical strips of white cotton at sides. Closely spaced horizontal stitching, possibly holding together multiple layers of bark. Seven widely spaced horizontal lines of zig-zag stitching in red, yellow, black. Neck, front and arm openings edged with black and red trade cloth. Projecting “epaulets” with zig-zag black stitching, edged with red fabric.
