Description
Polished adze fragment. Cutting edge is broken off. Rounded end less finely polished. Beveled sides begin near broken off end. Gray stone. A group of nine polished adzes, namely 2289, 2290, 13144, 13145, 13146, 13147, 13152, 13153, 13154 and 13155, are typical of the type of polished adzes which appear throughout Japan from the Early Jomon Period onward.
