Description | Cotton and silk fabric. Brocade on warp faced ground, floats not visible on reverse. Geometric, dots, circles, chevrons, diamonds, plain bands in brown ground, purple, green, white, yellow and orange. Selvedges finished, remains of stitching along one side. Ends finished. Excellent condition. Paper tag #5. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 48 epi, single, Z twist, natural brown cotton. Weft: 26 ppi, single, Z twist, natural brown cotton. Warp predominantly plain weave. Supplementary weft is single and two faced. One panel, four selvedges each. Woven on a backstrap loom." |
