Description | Stone tool point. Ovate point. Grey stone with white patina. Retouched along end and one edge of upper surface. Lower surface trimmed by battering technique. 57-5-1 is typical of the types of points found at Late Paleolithic sites. It bears similarities in type to examples as illustrated in Pearson's Ancient Japan and the flake points with retouched bases as described in Takeru Akazawa and others in "The Japanese Paleolithic: A Techno-typological Study." |
