Description | Three panels joined, each with 4 selvedges. Green ground with supplementary weft brocading of flowers, ducks, chevrons in white, purple, red, yellow. Neck not cut out. This was probably intended as two separate huipils. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 26 epi two singles Z-twist green cotton. Weft: 30 ppi singles Z-twist green cotton. Balanced plain weave. Supplementary weft: two-faced, multiple strands of white, purple, red, yellow cotton." |
