Sommerville: Antique paste intaglio, color pale sard. Othryades, a Spartan, one of the three hundred selected to fight with three hundred Argives for the possession of Thyrea. Antique Pastes, Case VVV.

Vermeule: Paste, pale color Sard. Intaglio. (Unmounted) "Othyades, a Spartan, one of the 300 selected to fight with 300 Argives for the possession of Thyrea." Graeco-Roman, in imitation of the design popular on late Etruscan and Italo-Estruscan gems.
