Description | Pottery; broken but repaired and essentially intact. Slight outcurve, flat base, rounded basal angle. Near rim andexterior band (H.2cm.) rectilinearly incised; this orange band overlaps hematite red-orcream exterior. Hematite red has been applied to vessel with close-set multiple applicator (Usulutan technique of application producing vertically attanged squiggles) continuing around entire vessel. Interior: painted with red hematite. Note the possibility that exterior is done white-on-red rather than red-on-white. Base slightly dimpled. |
