Description | Bucchero pesante rooster finial; from ornate focolare; mate to MS 2504; very fine; from large ornate vase. molded and tooled. Hollow rooster with comb, wattle tail, and peg on bottom for attachment to lid. Two holes, one near peg and one under tail. Fabric: dark grey core, fine-grained. Glossy black surface. Condition: two chips off tail, fragment missing from peg. Technique: molded in 2 sections, vertical join. Place of manufacture: Orvieto or Chiusi |
