Description | Warp: \ wool; mixed-dark-brown. Weft: \/ linen; tan: \ wool; mixed-dark-brown, dark-blue and red, brown and grey. Technique: Tapestry over one warp. Emb. with \/ linen. Series of ovals alternately large and small connected by short straight stems. The large ovals enclose four oval rings or irregular ring surrounding small cross. The small ovals are surrounded by four oval rings. Possibly belongs to tunic with hexagonal interlace on sleeve drape. Class IV variant? (E1443, card 6). |
