Description

Foot of pedestal vessel. Thickly potted. Circular foot attached to rounded bottom of vessel. Foot is smooth and burnished with red pigment and exterior sides of vessel are incised with short lines. Red pigment on interior bottom of vessel. Dark in color. This fragment of a footed vessel is probably not earlier than the Middle Jomon Period as fewer footed types appear before that time.
