Description

Almost square. Sides made of piece of wood kerfed and bent, ends nailed together. Bottom nailed on. Decoration: Front surface-- divided into narrow border with diagonal grooving, a wider border cut into triangle by incised lines (one triangle made of verticla grooving the next of horizontal), and a center square with horizontal grooving. (Grooving faint) Circle design with eyes above it painted in center section, long black and red "design" on side borders. Sides of box- diagonal grooved narrow borders and field cut into squares and then triangles (one grooves horizontally, the next vertically, etc.) Painted on one side an animal face, mostly green. Other side "design" in which thick black lines predominate. Wood a very light color. Painting sparse, does not cover entire surface. Layer of wood planed off of corners on outside.
