Description | Pumpkin gourd with wooden handle, loop of yellow twill tape attached to handle. Repeating triangle design on neck of gourd. Note in Speck's handwriting on note accompanying object, "Pumpkin rattle used in Big Rattle Medicine Society Rites. Note design [picture of triangles] depicitng (?) ' the people are all seated in a circle with their hearts united on desire to cure." |
