Description | The top half is heavily embroidered with alternating bands of orange, maroon and purple thread; these embroidered bands end in a dyed band of pale orange. There are two vertical lines of embroidery which corss-out the horizontal bands on either side of the neckline; these are of green, pink and purple thread. The neckline itself has a band of heavy embroidery as well, including designs of pansies and birds. As per Sigrid Meier, "Warp: 48, 2 singles, Z-twist, white cotton. Weft: 36, 2 singles, Z-twist, white cotton. Supplemental weft: 2 faced balanced p. weave." |
