Description | Shape: Squat amphora with two vertical coil handles and slightly flaring, elliptical lip. Fabric: Medium textured, light red (2.5YR 6/6) clay with pink (7.5YR 7/4) slip and decoration in red (2.5YR 5/8) to dark reddish brown (2.5YR 3/4) paint. Decoration: Thin band inside lip. Outside of handles painted. Bands on neck, body, and lower body; awkwardly drawn spirals above row of half circles on shoulder. Resting surface slipped but unpainted. Condition: Restored from fragments. Soem sherds missing. Surface very eroded. |
