Description | Similar type of mouthpeice, AF844. The hole is elliptical, the low ridge is lozenge-shaped, the angles of the long sides of the lozenge being carried transversely down the sides of the tusk forming two short, well-marked ridges. For the original attribution (as above) Torday put Bamputu ( Mambutu, mobutu), as a division of the Mengettu people. The lower end and the part of the tusk forward of the mouthpiece are covered with hide. |
