Description | Wooden Katsina doll carved from one piece of wood. This maiden figure is unpainted and done in the style of a Zuni Katsina. An incised jar (olla) is balanced on top of the figure's head. The facial features are simple, incised lines. Hair is shoulder length and tied in the back. A blanket is worn over the shoulders with decorated edges. Four dragonflies adorn the front of the garment. This figure is likely a variant of Maiden Katsina. Made by Alan Lewis. |
