Description

Cylindrical and rectangular box-like phylacteries joined by and attached to long red and tan twisted leather cords. The 4 cords are bound in various places by tan round leather rings, and in one place, also by thin leather encircling the 4 strands. The cylindrical phylactery is ribbed on the outside, with black and tan cut leather designs on either side. The rectangular phylactery has red leather with a cut-out desing over tan leather on the front. Tan leather with cut-out design over black leather on the sides, and incised red leather on the back, top and bottom. The cords and 1 side of the rectangular phylactery are damaged. The phylactery has layered cardboard on the interior, except for a cloth-covered part in the middle. 6/04/74 - Box opened RAK and PC. Arabic paper printed sheet xeroxed 6/5/74.
